Here is a trio unlike any other. First of all, because it does without a bass.

Secondly, because the three members who make up the group… actually compose.

It is, therefore, a collective trio in terms of both repertoire development and the group’s overall sound.

A decidedly electric sound with an energy that at times borders on rock, though this doesn’t prevent it from displaying a most welcome lyricism at other moments.

The guitar plays repetitive loops in places, over which the saxophones unfurl a vibrant, intense, or more velvety tone, while the drums accompany it all with a rich or more serene polyrhythm.

The interaction between the three instruments is consistently compelling and evolves in frequently unpredictable ways, offering the listener delightful melodic, harmonic, or rhythmic surprises. We thus follow the paths this trio proposes with ever-renewed interest, eagerly awaiting what the three musicians will present next.

The soprano and tenor saxophones alternate between lines of great softness and more lively passages.

The guitar sometimes takes on a hazy tone when playing single notes with an adventurous phrasing, or weaves together beautiful arpeggios and refined chords.

As for the drums, they shift from a refined and subtle play on the cymbals to a more energetic drumming, and the trio’s rare use of electronics brings a welcome variety to the whole. This is an excellent debut album from a band that we hope will have many opportunities to showcase its unique sound on stage for audiences who will be delighted to discover them.
