Oridano Gypsy Jazz Band – VE/VF

We wanted to present today, a new color of Gipsy jazz music, a Django Reinhardt style:

Oridano Gypsy Jazz band was set up in 2010, in Groznjan, Croatia. Fascination with Django Reinhardt’s opus as well as love for jazz manouche brought them together which resulted in forming a quintette.

Ever since, they have been playing Django Reinhardt’s music, performing in jazz clubs and festivals in Croatia and are regularly invited to Croatian National Television.

Their performance was also noticed at the „PSSST! Silent Film Festival“ 2012/2013  in Zagreb, where they were providing live improvised.

In June 2013 the band released their debut album in association with Hot Club Records (NOR) under the supervision of Jon Larsen (Hot Club de Norvege).

1st Oridano album

The second album, released in late May 2014, again by Hot Club Records under supervision of Jon Larsen, is dedicated to jazz standards, some of them rarely performed and recorded by gypsy jazz ensembles.

This second album is titled Swing ’14.
