Le r\u00e9pertoire se compose de th\u00e8mes bop ou hardbop (Charlie Parker, Cedar Walton Duke Pearson\u2026), de deux standards et d\u2019une composition du leader. Soit l\u00e0 encore une diversit\u00e9 bienvenue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Le titre du CD,\u00a0<strong><em>Dedicated<\/em><\/strong>, exprime clairement l\u2019objectif du batteur\u00a0: se d\u00e9dier corps et \u00e2me \u00e0 une esth\u00e9tique qu\u2019il revendique comme un continuateur d\u2019a\u00een\u00e9s tels qu\u2019Art Blakey, Max Roach ou Roy Haynes. C\u2019est donc un jeu de batterie riche et foisonnant que l\u2019on entend plage apr\u00e8s plage, que <strong>Morvan<\/strong> s\u2019exprime aux baguettes avec une tonicit\u00e9 remarquable ou aux balais avec une grande finesse. Ses choix d\u2019accompagnateurs d\u00e9notent \u00e9galement un go\u00fbt s\u00fbr qui allie musicalit\u00e9 et performance technique. On conna\u00eet les m\u00e9rites de <strong>Dmitry Baevsky<\/strong> et d\u2019<strong>Hugo<\/strong> <strong>Lippi<\/strong> qui, chacun sur son instrument, sont des r\u00e9f\u00e9rences aussi bien en mati\u00e8re de timbre que de phras\u00e9. On conna\u00eet moins la jeune fl\u00fbtiste <strong>Christelle Raquillet<\/strong>, mais elle se montre ici tout \u00e0 fait \u00e0 la hauteur de ses a\u00een\u00e9s, m\u00eame si on aurait souhait\u00e9 l\u2019entendre davantage. Quant au bassiste <strong>David Wong<\/strong>, que <strong>Morvan<\/strong> a connu \u00e0 New York, il se montre un partenaire id\u00e9al pour le jeu du batteur et pour assurer aux diff\u00e9rentes formations une assise harmonique et rythmique d\u2019une solidit\u00e9 in\u00e9branlable.
