Le temps d&rsquo;assimiler, de dig\u00e9rer et d&rsquo;en extraire non pas la substantifique mo\u00eblle, mais ce qui m&rsquo;apparait n\u00e9cessaire de mettre en avant, pour montrer\u00a0 les sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s qui font de ce festival un \u00e9v\u00e8nement singulier<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Le festival au coeur de la ville, Coutances la ville du festival : pas un lieu de la ville qui n&rsquo;\u00e9chappe \u00e0 cette emprise festive : chapelle, jardins publics, cours d&rsquo;\u00e9cole, esplanades, places, cloitre, &#8230;et bien s\u00fbr les lieux d\u00e9di\u00e9s aux concerts payants (TMC, salle Marcel H\u00e9lie, le Magic Mirrors, le cin\u00e9ma Le Long court, la Cath\u00e9drale&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">64 concerts payants sur la semaine avec un taux de remplissage de plus de 97%<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Des spectacles de rue qui affichent complet\u2026 (et sans c\u00e9der \u00e0 la tentation de la vari\u00e9t\u00e9, popisante comme la plupart des festivals les plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bres, pour \u00ab\u00a0<em>vendre du ticket<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb\u2026)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Une sc\u00e8ne <em>Avis aux Amateurs<\/em>, des s\u00e9ances de cin\u00e9ma, des expositions\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Ce sont plus de 70 000 spectateurs et visiteurs venus \u00e0 Coutances lors de cette semaine pour, chacun selon son envie, participer \u00e0 ce grand rendez-vous. Un vrai et grand Festival de Jazz.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Quelques chiffres\u00a0:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8211; 49 salari\u00e9s et stagiaires<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8211; 138 techniciens salari\u00e9s<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8211; 530 b\u00e9n\u00e9voles<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8211; 311 musiciens professionnels et 30 artistes de rue professionnels<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8211; 2 544 abonn\u00e9s<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">-1 2 programmateurs \u00e9trangers pr\u00e9sents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Lors d&rsquo;un premier bilan \u00e0 chaud, le directeur du festival, <strong>Denis Lebas<\/strong>, parle d&rsquo;une r\u00e9ussite collective, rendue possible gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une alchimie entre permanents, b\u00e9n\u00e9voles, techniciens. Il souligne \u00e9galement l&rsquo;importance accord\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;accueil des artistes. Le travail sur la transition \u00e9cologique n&rsquo;est pas en reste. Par exemple, 100% des contenants sont r\u00e9utilisables. L&rsquo;acc\u00e8s au festival, la mobilit\u00e9 sont aussi des sujets travaill\u00e9s et am\u00e9lior\u00e9s \u00e0 chaque nouvelle \u00e9dition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Voici le d\u00e9cor globalement plant\u00e9. Quid du contenu?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><u>Les Cr\u00e9ations<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Sur les 5, j&rsquo;en retiendrai tout particuli\u00e8rement 3.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><em>A Carnival Love Story<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Avec le soutien du conseil d\u00e9partemental de la Manche, dans le cadre du sch\u00e9ma d\u00e9partemental de l\u2019enseignement, des pratiques et de l\u2019\u00e9ducation artistique, <strong>Arnaud Dolmen<\/strong> a pu cr\u00e9er un projet regroupant plus de 200 \u00e9l\u00e8ves issus de 11 \u00e9coles de musique de la Manche, 3 batucadas pour proposer \u00ab\u00a0<strong><em>A Carnival Love Story<\/em><\/strong>\u00ab\u00a0, qu&rsquo;il a sp\u00e9cialement compos\u00e9 et arrang\u00e9, est tr\u00e8s largement inspir\u00e9 de sa culture guadeloup\u00e9enne et de son \u00e9ducation musicale.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-43572\" src=\"https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/A.Dolmen-A-Carnival-Love-Story.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"566\" srcset=\"https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/A.Dolmen-A-Carnival-Love-Story.jpg 850w, https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/A.Dolmen-A-Carnival-Love-Story-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/A.Dolmen-A-Carnival-Love-Story-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/>Fort de cette culture, <strong>Arnaud Dolmen<\/strong> sort des p\u00e9dagogies traditionnelles et rend hommage au d\u00e9but du concert \u00e0 Rudy Benjamin, d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 il y a un an, et qui a laiss\u00e9 une marque ind\u00e9l\u00e9bile dans le carnaval guadeloup\u00e9en.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Et, c&rsquo;est presque \u00e0 un carnaval, musical en tout cas, auquel les spectateurs ont pu assister. Avec deux repr\u00e9sentations affichant complet (2 000 spectateurs !)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Une exp\u00e9rience unique pour tous les participants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Avec 2 invit\u00e9s de marque : <strong>Robinson Khoury <\/strong>et<strong> Sonny Troup\u00e9<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Mention hors concours pour le duo <strong>Arnaud Dolmen- Sonny Troup\u00e9<\/strong>, sur une composition de ce dernier.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><em>Ishkero avec Donny McCaslin<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Le dispositif <em>Talents Jazz Adami<\/em> a choisi\u00a0 de mettre en valeur le groupe <strong>Ishkero<\/strong>, d\u00e9j\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent \u00e0 <strong>Coutances <\/strong>en 2023 lors des <em>Jazz Export Days. <\/em>C\u2019est sous le mentorat du saxophoniste <strong><em>Donny <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>McCaslin <\/em><\/strong>que le projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par <strong>Laurent de Wilde<\/strong>, la veille du concert, lors d&rsquo;un showcase.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-43586\" src=\"https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Ishkero-McCaslin-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"566\" \/>Coutances <\/em><\/strong>sera la premi\u00e8re date de cette cr\u00e9ation. Deux r\u00e9p\u00e9titions et un showcase plus tard, <strong>Ishkero <\/strong>et <strong>Donny McCaslin<\/strong> \u00e9taient sur la sc\u00e8ne du <em>TMC.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">La rencontre entre jazz, rock, fusion, jeunes musiciens en pleine coh\u00e9sion et le saxophoniste ouvert aux fusions \u00e9lectriques, a tenu toutes ses promesses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Donny McCaslin<\/strong> a dialogu\u00e9 avec chaque musicien, les poussant \u00e0 exprimer le meilleur d&rsquo;eux-m\u00eames pour aboutir \u00e0 une cr\u00e9ation musicale exceptionnelle.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><em>Song for Abbey<\/em><\/strong><em>, <\/em>la cr\u00e9ation de <strong>Marion Rampal<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Impr\u00e9gn\u00e9e d\u00e8s son adolescence par les m\u00e9lodies d&rsquo;Abbey, mais aussi touch\u00e9e par la militante f\u00e9ministe, <strong>Marion Rampal<\/strong> a choisi d&rsquo;interpr\u00e9ter le r\u00e9pertoire de la songwriter, qu&rsquo;elle qualifie de matrimoine du jazz.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-43594\" src=\"https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Marion-Rampal.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"566\" srcset=\"https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Marion-Rampal.jpg 850w, https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Marion-Rampal-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Marion-Rampal-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/>Elle a choisi de travailler avec la m\u00eame \u00e9quipe que pour son pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent projet (Oizel)\u00a0: <strong>Matthis Pascaud,\u00a0 Rapha\u00ebl Chassin, Thibault Gomez <\/strong>et<strong> Simon Tailleu<\/strong>. \u00ab\u00a0<strong><em>Abbey sings Abbey<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb sera le fil conducteur de ce concert. Avec pour objectif de rendre hommage dans son monde sonore et pas dans celui d&rsquo;Abbey. Ainsi <em>Learning How to Listen, <\/em>une superbe ballade<em>, <\/em>sera introduit par un duo voix-piano de toute beaut\u00e9. <em>Tender as a Rose, <\/em>une chanson de Phil Moore, sur laquelle la chanteuse m\u00eale un po\u00e8me d&rsquo;Abbey (<em>On Being High<\/em>), traduit en fran\u00e7ais, est un moment fort et original de ce concert. <em>Remember the People, est <\/em>une co-composition de <strong>Marion<\/strong> et <strong>Archie Shepp<\/strong> (Celui-ci sera pr\u00e9sent sur l&rsquo;opus qui sortira cet automne).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">A noter \u00e9galement le tr\u00e8s beau <em>First Song <\/em>de <strong>Charlie Haden<\/strong>, sous la forme duo voix-contrebasse. <em>Bird Alone <\/em>cl\u00f4ture le concert.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">L&rsquo;oiseau seul tourne en rond dans le ciel. Une fin de concert \u00e9voquant un climat un peu tendu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>Tambourine Man <\/em>pour le rappel, terminera sur une note plus l\u00e9g\u00e8re.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><u>Les rencontres musicales<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Un quartet de r\u00eave pour une premi\u00e8re rencontre \u00ab<em>First Meeting\u00bb <\/em>: <strong>Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Chris Potter, Eric Harland, Larry Grenadier.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Le pianiste, pr\u00e9sent en 2023 avec Pierrick P\u00e9dron pour un concert m\u00e9morable, appara\u00eet un peu comme le ma\u00eetre d&rsquo;oeuvre o\u00f9 chaque musicien trouve son espace de libert\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Des reprises, comme <em>500 Miles High <\/em>de Chick Corea<em>, <\/em>qui ouvre le concert, mais aussi l&rsquo;apport de chacun pour des compositions o\u00f9 virtuosit\u00e9, complicit\u00e9, \u00e9coute mutuelle, nous offrent une musique riche, inventive et jubilatoire.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>Hommage \u00e0 Paco de Lucia<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Chano Dominguez, Louis Winsberg<\/strong> et le quintet <strong>d&rsquo;Antonio Lizana<\/strong> pour un hommage au guitariste flamenco, disparu il y a 11 ans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Paco de Lucia n&rsquo;aurait pas boud\u00e9 cet hommage qui a d\u00e9but\u00e9 avec <strong>Chano Dominguez<\/strong>, seul sur sc\u00e8ne.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-43584\" src=\"https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Hommage-a-Paco.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"566\" srcset=\"https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Hommage-a-Paco.jpg 850w, https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Hommage-a-Paco-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Hommage-a-Paco-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Le pianiste andalou, riche de multiples influences (flamenco, jazz, classique) jouera 2 morceaux avant d&rsquo;\u00eatre rejoint sur sc\u00e8ne par le saxophoniste, <strong>Shayan Fati<\/strong> et <strong>El Mawi de Cadix<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Claquements de main de ces 2 derniers, solos de saxophone et chants flamenco d&rsquo;<strong>Antonio Lizana <\/strong>font monter la temp\u00e9rature dans la salle Marcel H\u00e9lie.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Puis <strong>Daniel Garcia<\/strong>, le brillant pianiste du quintet prend la place de Chano Dominguez et <strong>Louis Winsberg<\/strong> fera son entr\u00e9e. Des morceaux o\u00f9 le jazz se m\u00ealera au flamenco et ses diff\u00e9rents styles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Les interventions vocales d&rsquo;<strong>Antonio Lizana<\/strong>, les claquettes et la danse d&rsquo;<strong>El Mawi<\/strong> <strong>de Cadiz<\/strong> ont fait litt\u00e9ralement chavirer le public.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><u>Des concerts au Top<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><em>New York Tango trio<\/em><\/strong> <strong>Richard Galliano, Adrien Moignard, Philippe Aerts<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Non sans humour, l&rsquo;accord\u00e9oniste rappelle qu&rsquo;il est venu \u00e0 Coutances alors <strong>qu&rsquo;Adrien Moignard<\/strong>, le guitariste, \u00e9tait \u00e2g\u00e9 de moins 3 ans. Et toujours avec humour <strong>Richard Galliano<\/strong> d\u00e9butera le concert par <em>Vuelvo al Sur <\/em>. Pour <strong><em>Coutances<\/em><\/strong>, \u00e7a tombait bien ! Un vent frais souffle sur valses et tangos, gr\u00e2ce bien s\u00fbr au talent de l&rsquo;accord\u00e9oniste, mais aussi gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ses 2 complices qui assurent plus qu&rsquo;un bel \u00e9crin.
