Big\u00a0\u00bb d\u2019Aaron Parks et, comme avec les deux pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes moutures de ce projet, la magie op\u00e8re d\u00e8s les premi\u00e8res notes. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">A quoi cela tient-il\u00a0?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Tout d\u2019abord \u00e0 un son de groupe \u00e0 la fois original et totalement classique dans les \u00e9l\u00e9ments qui le composent. <strong>Parks<\/strong> cultive un go\u00fbt certain de la simplicit\u00e9 harmonique, m\u00e9lodique et rythmique tout en d\u00e9tournant subtilement les \u00e9l\u00e9ments de son discours pour les rendre uniques.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Simples, les compositions \u2014 parfois tr\u00e8s br\u00e8ves \u2014 le sont souvent, tel ce th\u00e8me bas\u00e9 sur un vamp r\u00e9p\u00e9titif minimaliste obs\u00e9dant, et l\u2019on retrouve ce go\u00fbt du <em>less is more<\/em> lors des solos de piano qui apparaissent parfois comme une rivi\u00e8re limpide qui coule paisiblement dans un paysage enchanteur.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Ce culte de la fra\u00eecheur voire de la na\u00efvet\u00e9 est parfois \u00e0 peine croyable et on se demande comment <strong>Parks<\/strong>peut oser une telle candeur.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">La place de la guitare de <strong>Greg<\/strong> <strong>Tuohey<\/strong>\u00a0au sein du quartet est un peu diff\u00e9rente ne serait-ce que parce que, contrairement au piano, elle modifie sa sonorit\u00e9 au fil des plages, allant d\u2019un son assez classiquement jazz \u00e0 un timbre plus sale, plus rock, plus satur\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Le contraste entre les deux principaux solistes est \u00e0 ce niveau particuli\u00e8rement int\u00e9ressant et constitue l\u2019un des principaux attraits de cette musique.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Quant \u00e0 la paire rythmique (avec <strong>Jongkuk Kim<\/strong>, un nouveau batteur aussi enthousiasmant que Tommy Crane sur les deux CDs pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents), elle fournit un soubassement \u00e0 la fois dense et subtil.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Tonique, savamment polyrythmique et coloriste pour la batterie, profond et solidement charpent\u00e9 pour la contrebasse de <strong>David Ginyard Jr<\/strong>..<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Avec de tels partenaires, <strong>Parks<\/strong> dispose de tous les \u00e9l\u00e9ments dont il a besoin pour proposer une musique \u00e0 la fois s\u00e9duisante et lisible qui devrait captiver un large public, et totalement satisfaisante pour les fans de jazz les plus exigeants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Belle r\u00e9ussite, donc, de la part d\u2019un musicien dont on attend constamment le meilleur.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:
