Boy She\u2019s the Dandy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>C\u2019est un disque d\u2019une diversit\u00e9 stylistique impressionnante que nous propose Chris Jennings, bassiste canadien \u00e9tabli en France depuis quelques lustres. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Et tout d\u2019abord par la diversit\u00e9 de ses accompagnateurs\u00a0: Fran\u00e7ais comme le pianiste <strong>Patrick Goraguer<\/strong>, N\u00e9o-Z\u00e9landais comme le saxophoniste <strong>Hayden Chisholm<\/strong>, Finlandais comme le guitariste <strong>Kalle Kalima<\/strong>, Allemand comme le batteur <strong>Eric Schaefer<\/strong> et Etatsunienne comme la chanteuse <strong>Rachel Eckroth<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">L\u2019unit\u00e9 de l\u2019ensemble est \u00e9videmment due \u00e0 la contrebasse du leader mais \u00e9galement \u00e0 ses compositions qui puisent leur source dans les musiques qu\u2019il a pratiqu\u00e9es avec des musiciens alg\u00e9riens, marocains ou su\u00e9dois et des leaders tels que Joachim K\u00fchn, Dhafer Youssef, Nguy\u00ean L\u00ea, Gr\u00e9gory Privat ou C\u00e9line Bonacina. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Ce disque est donc une sorte de bilan provisoire de l\u2019itin\u00e9raire d\u2019un musicien particuli\u00e8rement \u00e9clectique et qui, ici, se produit tant\u00f4t avec le quartet de base (guitare, piano, basse et batterie), tant\u00f4t en trio (sur une composition du pianiste), tant\u00f4t en quintet avec le saxophoniste ou la chanteuse et bri\u00e8vement en solo. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">La sonorit\u00e9 distinctive de chacun des protagonistes \u2014 entre autres celle de <strong>Kalle Kalima<\/strong>, le jeu particuli\u00e8rement riche de <strong>Patrick Goraguer<\/strong> (que l\u2019on conna\u00eet par ailleurs come batteur) et bien s\u00fbr le son bois\u00e9 de la contrebasse du leader \u2014 est un atout majeur de la richesse m\u00e9lodique, rythmique et harmonique de ce r\u00e9pertoire qui nous m\u00e8ne de plage en plage \u00e0 travers des paysages contrast\u00e9 o\u00f9 voisinent la pop (avec la chanteuse), le folklore oriental et un jazz moderne au sein duquel l\u2019improvisation est reine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"> On est rapidement conquis par l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re de cet opus o\u00f9 la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 est doubl\u00e9e d\u2019une totale sinc\u00e9rit\u00e9 de propos. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Tout ici semble couler de source et la savante construction de l\u2019ensemble ne laisse jamais appara\u00eetre les coutures qui permettent au tout de trouver son unit\u00e9. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Une remarquable r\u00e9ussite\u00a0!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border-radius: 12px;\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/album\/2VZEcmkiMzXaJcsebt1xin?utm_source=generator\" width=\"100%\" height=\"352\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Personnel :<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Chris Jennings\u00a0<\/strong>: contrebasse<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Kalle Kalima\u00a0<\/strong>: guitar<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Patrick Goraguer\u00a0<\/strong>: piano<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Eric Schaefer\u00a0<\/strong>: drums<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Hayden Chisholm\u00a0<\/strong>: saxophone<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Rachel Eckroth\u00a0<\/strong>: vocals<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><em>Boy She\u2019s the Dandy<\/em> <\/strong>est sorti sous le label\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eden-river-records.com\"><strong>Eden River Records<\/strong><\/a> le 12 juillet 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Depuis cette \u00a0date, ile est en s\u00e9lection sur Couleurs Jazz Radio !<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>C\u2019est un disque d\u2019une diversit\u00e9 stylistique impressionnante que nous propose Chris Jennings, bassiste canadien \u00e9tabli en France depuis quelques lustres.
