{"id":40735,"date":"2024-04-24T06:51:08","date_gmt":"2024-04-24T05:51:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/?p=40735"},"modified":"2024-04-24T06:55:07","modified_gmt":"2024-04-24T05:55:07","slug":"sylvie-courvoisier-chimaera","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/fr\/sylvie-courvoisier-chimaera\/","title":{"rendered":"Sylvie Courvoisier &#8211; Chimaera"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>C\u2019est la premi\u00e8re fois, \u00e0 ma connaissance, que la pianiste suisse \u00e9tablie aux USA Sylvie Courvoisier dirige un sextet et propose une musique couvrant deux CDs. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Compos\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019origine suite \u00e0 une commande du festival <em>Sons d\u2019Hiver<\/em>, la musique de <strong>Chimaera<\/strong> est \u00e0 la fois tr\u00e8s \u00e9crite et ouverte \u00e0 l\u2019improvisation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Les six th\u00e8mes de la pianiste, aux titres inspir\u00e9s par des \u0153uvres du peintre Odilon Redon, s\u2019\u00e9tendent sur des longueurs allant de 8 minutes \u00e0 plus de 20 minutes, ce qui en fait des tableaux sonores o\u00f9 la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019une atmosph\u00e8re est le souci principal. Cette atmosph\u00e8re est essentiellement bas\u00e9e sur une instrumentation inhabituelle o\u00f9 brillent les deux trompettes de <strong>Wadada Leo Smith<\/strong> et <strong>Nate Wooley<\/strong> et o\u00f9 la guitare et les effets \u00e9lectroniques de <strong>Christian Fennesz<\/strong> jouent un r\u00f4le majeur.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Dans ce contexte, le trio habituel de la pianiste ne fonctionne pas comme une rythmique traditionnelle mais participe \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9laboration du son de groupe, le batteur <strong>Kenny Wollesen<\/strong> troquant par moments son kit pour un vibraphone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Le piano de la leadeuse se fait dans l\u2019ensemble assez discret et l\u2019on sent que <strong>Courvoisier<\/strong> s\u2019est ici focalis\u00e9e sur la composition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Le r\u00e9sultat est une musique d\u2019une grande richesse au niveau des timbres, souvent m\u00e9ditative au niveau rythmique, et qui sollicite de la part de l\u2019auditeur une attention soutenue.
