Mais quel autre guitariste de blues\/rock, \u00e0 l\u2019origine, a autant flirt\u00e9 que lui avec le jazz et le jazz-rock\u00a0?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Et quel guitariste a abord\u00e9 le blues avec autant de personnalit\u00e9 dans son jeu, marqu\u00e9 par une vision tr\u00e8s personnelle, tr\u00e8s \u00ab\u00a0vocale\u00a0\u00bb de la guitare\u00a0? Pour s\u2019en convaincre il faut\u00a0 remonter \u00e0 l\u2019ann\u00e9e 1968 o\u00f9 le premier <strong>Jeff Beck Group<\/strong> publie l\u2019album \u00ab\u00a0<em>Truth<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb sur lequel les \u00e9changes entre le guitariste et le chanteur Rod Stewart montrent \u00e0 quel point ces \u00ab\u00a0petits Blancs\u00a0\u00bb britanniques ont compris et assimil\u00e9 le langage des grands bluesmen noirs am\u00e9ricains. D\u2019o\u00f9 l\u2019admiration que Jimi Hendrix manifesta toujours pour son confr\u00e8re anglais.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Regardez la video :\u00a0\u00bb<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/0agVtbLcq-I\">ROCK MY PLIMSOUL<\/a>\u00a0\u00bb (1968) by the Jeff Beck Group<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">En 1976, sur \u00ab\u00a0<em>Wired<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb un album nettement plus jazz-rock auquel participe entre autres le clavi\u00e9riste tch\u00e8que Jan Hammer, <strong>Beck<\/strong> propose une interpr\u00e9tation du \u00ab\u00a0<em>Goodbye Pork Pie Hat<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb de Charles Mingus qui lui vaudra une lettre de f\u00e9licitation du contrebassiste am\u00e9ricain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border-radius: 12px;\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/track\/77wOpffkkQtZpdrvhPKbFq?utm_source=generator\" width=\"100%\" height=\"380\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">En 1989, sur \u00ab\u00a0<em>Jeff Beck\u2019s Guitar Shop<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb Beck s\u2019entoure de deux musiciens issus du jazz ou ayant flirt\u00e9 avec lui\u00a0: le clavi\u00e9riste anglais Tony Hymas et le batteur am\u00e9ricain Terry Bozzio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border-radius: 12px;\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/track\/125A2rR00XHm5xbeWrREeK?utm_source=generator\" width=\"100%\" height=\"380\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Enfin en 2007 il enregistre en public au <em>Ronnie Scott\u2019s<\/em>, le grand club de jazz londonien, un CD\/DVD o\u00f9 il est accompagn\u00e9 par trois musiciens proches du jazz\u00a0: le clavi\u00e9riste britannique Jason Rebello, la bassiste australienne Tal Wilkenfeld et le batteur am\u00e9ricain Vinnie Colaiuta. Ces deux derniers quitteront d\u2019ailleurs <strong>Beck<\/strong> pour rejoindre une des stars du jazz am\u00e9ricain\u00a0: Herbie Hancock. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Les improvisations des quatre musiciens durant ce concert montrent que l\u2019esprit du jazz, sinon la lettre a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent chez le guitariste.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border-radius: 12px;\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/album\/79qCfICn74h2GcX9Q6mmvy?utm_source=generator\" width=\"100%\" height=\"380\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">C\u2019est donc un guitariste-cam\u00e9l\u00e9on qui vient de nous quitter, un musicien au jeu tr\u00e8s personnel qui faisait chanter sa guitare avec les doigts plut\u00f4t qu\u2019au m\u00e9diator et dont l\u2019inventivit\u00e9 m\u00e9lodique \u00e9tait loin de se limiter aux codes du rock. S\u2019il est un guitariste qui, en marge du jazz, m\u00e9rite l\u2019attention des amateurs d\u2019improvisation c\u2019est bien <strong>Jeff Beck,<\/strong> l\u2019un des stylistes les plus atypique et original de la six corde \u00e9lectrique.
