Un an plus tard, ce dernier montait Saxomania, une formation constitu\u00e9e de deux saxophones alto et t\u00e9nor et d&rsquo;une section rythmique.<\/h3>\n<p>Cet ensemble se d\u00e9marquait du groupe Supersax, c\u00e9l\u00e8bre \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9poque pour ses transcriptions harmonis\u00e9es de solos de Charlie Parker, puisque les diff\u00e9rents intervenants pouvaient improviser en toute libert\u00e9. L\u00e0 aussi le succ\u00e8s fut au rendez-vous comme l&rsquo;attestent les disques enregistr\u00e9s en compagnie d&rsquo;invit\u00e9s de grande classe (Benny Carter, Spike Robinson, Phil Woods, Guy Lafitte et Clark Terry).<\/p>\n<p>Ce New Saxomania prolonge cette exp\u00e9rience en proposant un format orchestral in\u00e9dit : un soprano, deux t\u00e9nors, un alto, un baryton et une section rythmique (contrebasse, guitare, batterie). Claude Tissendier a adapt\u00e9 avec une science consomm\u00e9e de l&rsquo;\u00e9criture ces orchestrations d&rsquo;origines diverses au format de son octette. En proposant des associations sonores et des alliages de timbres in\u00e9dits, ses partitions distillent une unit\u00e9 de ton du plus bel effet.<\/p>\n<p>Les membres de New Saxomania forment une \u00e9quipe soud\u00e9e et produisent une musique dont ils connaissent toutes les subtilit\u00e9s. Soutenus par le swing lib\u00e9rateur d&rsquo;une section rythmique de haute vol\u00e9e, ils servent au mieux les intentions du leader en improvisant des solos de belle facture qui apportent \u00e0 l&rsquo;ensemble une r\u00e9elle authenticit\u00e9.
