Wednesday, May 27th 2015 at 9.30 pm<\/p>\n<p>Where ? in la Maison des Oc\u00e9ans &#8211; Paris<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cHard bop, my first love\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since his first solo album in 1998, <strong>Kyle Eastwood<\/strong> didn\u2019t cease to reduce further the barriers of his personal universe, using his expertise to show his diversified musical taste.<\/p>\n<p>In his new album \u201cT<strong>ime pieces<\/strong>\u201d, the double-bass player\u2019s tunes sound like the culmination of the work he started with the young and talented musicians who accompanied him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Kyle1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1904\" src=\"http:\/\/couleursjazz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Kyle1.jpg\" alt=\"Kyle1\" width=\"225\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Except for now, a Cuban drummer has joined them, giving them an impeccable pulse. Around the quintet\u2019s compositions, that they often created together, you will also be able to discover Kyle Eastwood\u2019s self portrait. In fact, the covers he chose (Herbie Hancock and Horace Silver) are revealing his passion for lyrical hard bop from the 50s and 60s, and his reinterpretation around \u201cLetters from Iwo Jima\u201d confirms how important composing for films is for him. Kyle Eastwood comes back to the Festival to lead us to the heart of a modern and personal songbook of today\u2019s jazz with melody, elegance groove and a great maturity.<\/p>\n<p>New album \u201cTime pieces\u201d (release April 21st, 2015 on Jazz Village).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>_______________<\/p>\n<p><em>Depuis son premier disque en tant que leader en 1998, Kyle Eastwood n\u2019a cess\u00e9 de repousser les fronti\u00e8res de son univers personnel en d\u00e9clinant avec beaucoup de savoir-faire l\u2019\u00e9tendue de ses go\u00fbts musicaux. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201c<\/em>Timepieces<em>\u201d, le nouvel album du contrebassiste, sonne comme l\u2019aboutissement du travail entam\u00e9 avec les jeunes et talentueux musiciens anglais qui l\u2019accompagnent depuis trois albums, d\u00e9sormais rejoints par un batteur cubain qui leur insuffle une pulsation impeccable. Autour des compositions souvent collectives du quintet, le r\u00e9pertoire est aussi un autoportrait musical de Kyle Eastwood : les reprises choisies (Herbie Hancock et Horace Silver) r\u00e9v\u00e8lent sa passion pour le hard bop lyrique des ann\u00e9es cinquante et soixante, et une relecture de son th\u00e8me pour Letters from Iwo Jima confirme l\u2019importance de son \u00e9criture pour le cin\u00e9ma.
