A dynamic and crystalline sound\u00a0for a\u00a0quartet\u00a0that\u00a0at times\u00a0evokes Jan Garbarek\u2019s,\u00a0with an eclectic repertoire, fromKrzysztof\u00a0Komeda\u00a0to\u00a0Herbie\u00a0Hancock\u00a0by way of\u00a0Sting.\u00a0An album\u00a0to put\u00a0under the Christmas tree.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Keith Jarrett, sors de ce corps\u00a0! A l\u2019\u00e9coute du titre qui ouvre Spark of Life, il \u00a0difficile de ne pas associer le style de Marcin Wasilewski (tout en appogiatures) au plus\u00a0susceptible des princes am\u00e9ricains \u2014 ce, accentu\u00e9 par l\u2019esth\u00e9tique sonore du label ECM.\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0Austin\u00a0\u00bb est un hommage \u00e9mouvant \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tonnant pianiste californien Austin Perralta,\u00a0mort l\u2019an dernier \u00e0 22 ans.<\/p>\n<p>A l\u2019image de la pochette du disque repr\u00e9sentant un vol\u00a0group\u00e9 d\u2019oiseaux sur un fond de ciel nuageux, Spark of Life est un enregistrement\u00a0minimaliste, a\u00e9rien, s\u2019inscrivant au c\u0153ur de la tradition du jazz europ\u00e9en. Ex-compagnon de route du trompettiste Tomasz Stanko, Marcin Wasilewski s\u2019impose\u00a0comme l\u2019un des pianistes les plus subtils du Vieux Continent. Un son dynamique et\u00a0cristallin au service d\u2019un quartet \u00e9voquant par moment celui de Jan Garbarek et\u00a0parcourant un r\u00e9pertoire \u00e9clectique, de Krysztof Komeda \u00e0 Herbie Hancock en passant\u00a0par Sting.
